Boden by me #2

Weee here`s a full rainbow for ya! :) Lately Ive been drawn to wearing skirts instead of dresses. A dress is pretty and all but doesnt require the amount of styling as a skirt where you need to find a top and cardi to match or mismatch. ;) My newest addition to my growing collection of retroinspired full skirts is of course this beauty by Boden. What can I say it was love at first sight online. :)

I wore this to work on a sunny day (they are few and far between) and this was just the perfect outfit. :) I really love the fit of this skirt, quite fitted at the waist and upper hip and then flares out.

I decided to match stripes on stripes to make the outfit a bit more interesting, I love to have fun with my clothes. :)

Finally I have decided on the outfit for my meetings in Brussels later this week. I hope this dress from Boden will see me safely through it all, its the more modest of dresses I own and its navy which is a corporate colour. Wish me luck ladies, Im sure gonna need it!!

I attended a confirmation dinner party for one of my cousins a Sunday in May. And I wore this, covered in Boden from head to toe (nearly). ;) I love the fact that Boden always have some vintage inspired clothes in their collections. :) This is the vintage bow dress and I think it lives up to its name. :)

Lately I have become more and more infatuated by vintage/retro inspired clothes, admiring the pin up girls who lives out my secret dream. One of my guilty pleasures is to read vintage style blogs/insta blogs, soooooo many pretty outfits Im nearly having a heart attack. ;) Sadly Im not able to wear that kind of clothes in my everyday life, its not compatible with having a toddler and I would look like I was going to a costume party everyday. ;) Oh well only in my dreams then..

Im wearing this lovely, bright yellow trenchcoat from Boden, its from the spring collection last year but this is the first time Im wearing it. :) I think it goes rather well with my dress. :)
Bleurgh, have you heard summer is off? Im having a hard time dressing these days, all I want to wear is bright, colourful, summery outfits but the weather certainly isnt keen on that idea. :( Its been raining and so cold we might as well  been living on Iceland for that matter. We havent even touched the 20 Celsius yet and thats a disgrace at this time of year. Im so fed up with the freakish weather and feel like my inspiration and mojo has turned the blind eye and left me in jeans and boring top for weeks on end.......Please Please Summer will you turn up sooon?
And if that wasnt enough I have a clothing dilemma that has left me in a bit of a puddle. Im going to Brussel later this month on a work trip, attending a couple of meetings in the EU district. Im scared shitless to say the least (iiiikkk - first time in Brussel and first time attending an EU meeting, all on my own). And what to wear??? I dont think my fondness of colours and novel patterns will go down well with the EU crowd. *giggles* Formal clothes is so not me and I dont own any such garment either. Luckily I still have some time left to figure this one out....

Valentines

Sometimes I need a little kick up my butt when it comes to colour mixing. :) I find these crafting colour challenges - ColourQ really inspiring. In fact I have decided to challenge myself in recreating this colour palette by the use of items from my wardrobe. :)

And... here is the result. :) Melonmambo cardi and tights, pumpkin orange top, red skirt and neutral/offwhite boots. I had so much fun rummaging through my closet so I will certainly do this again. Thinking of making it a weekly serie here on the blog. :) Perhaps you will be inspired to try it as well. ;) Nothing would please me more, heheheheeee.

These colours are also perfect for Valentines coming up this week. :) I wont be celebrating valentines myself (my hubby and I cant be bothered) but I will be wearing red and pink at work this week instead. ;) I wore this outfit at work today.

Boden reconstructed

Hi there! Finally I got the opportunity to show you my latest Boden arrivals. :) I received the skirt weeks ago but the jumper I bought in the huge sale just before Christmas. Due to the holidays and customs I didnt receive it until a couple of days ago. YaY the sun was present too, a seldom sight these days as we have had gale winds and rain for days on end now.

Boden intarsia jumper and kilt skirt. Im trying to recreate this Boden outfit, I fell in love with the colourclashing. :) and my wardrobe was sorely missing a pink skirt. ;)

So here`s how the outfit looks like on a real woman. ;) Ive actually played it up a bit by adding red tights and purple ankle boots. :) I felt really at home in this. The jumper is size UK6 and the skirt is UK10L but slightly roomy in the waist, I should have gotten a size UK8L instead but I was afraid it would be too tiny as I have put on a few kilos from having a baby.

Love, love, love the bright colours together, I cant get enough, someday I will colour OD Im sure of it. ;)

The jumper is still available in the clearance sale but unfortunately the kilt skirt sold out pretty quickly, long before any sale.

Spring has sprung at Boden`s

Monday this week we woke up to new spring collection from Boden. :) I believe its the first launch of more to come as Ive learned that Boden doesnt show all the goodies at once, save the last ones for the best perhaps?;) Actually I dont mind at all, its really nice to have something to look forward to in the weeks to come. My heart does a little twirl whenever I come by new stuff, its so exciting! :) And I wanna buy everything, hehehe.

As much as I love Boden and being a dedicated fan I cant help but feeling a little let down by the spring collection. There are certainly less items that get me all worked up, even the patterns and colours seems a bit off this time. But of course I have managed to put together a wishlist for you. ;)
So here goes:

Seatown shirt dress - My absolute favourite dress from the 2015 spring collection, Im a sucker for vintage looking dresses so this ticks my box. A must have for retro style lovers! Will get this!

Casual jersey dress - I love the casual jersey dress style and fit, have several of them from past seasons. Even if I do love a bold print Im in two minds about it, quirky but perhaps a little over the top even for me. Well lets see. ;)

Beatrice dress - As for the dress above I cant seem to make my mind up about this one, quirky but a bit over the top again. I need to think this through. ;) Ive put it on my list cause I love everything quirky. :)

Grace skirt - cant go wrong with a floral skirt for spring. Beautiful!

Chic Denim A-line - A staple for anyone`s wardrobe as it goes with a lot of stuff. I need this cause I dont have a classical skirt like this one.

Fifties Cardigan - Another must buy for a vintage style girl. :) I love cardis like this, they are short so perfect company for a dress compared to the usual cardi length.

Chip on my shoulder

Hia! Its not like I have chip on my shoulder these days but more like one on my chest and a pack down below. ;) Hehehe. This is to me one of my cutest outfit I have ever come up with, totally adorable. :) and maybe a little childish, but hey thats me. ;) When I bought the skirt I had totally forgotten about the squirrel cardi (too much clothes eh?) and I jumped of joy when I found it in the back of my closet by chance. :)

The skirt is of course from Boden, no surprise there. :) There is even a squirrel dress too which Im lusting after of course. It was just released among the rest of the winter collection this week, lots of droolworthy items Id say. :) Well dont be shocked if I turn up in a squirrly dress sometime in the future, hihihi. ;) No surprise to my colleagues at the office as well, I think they must be sick of me wearing all kinds of creatures. :) My obsession with animal prints is starting to show for real. ;)

I started my sewing class yesterday, yes Im going to learn how to sew clothes for my daughter and myself, preferably dresses and skirts if I manage. :) An aspiring seamstress but boy did I struggle yesterday, certainly Im not blessed in anything crafty. But I had a good time and learned a lot. Now I only have to make time to sit down and befriend my sewing machine, we are not on the best of terms yet. :P The rest of the class got homework but according to our teacher I apparently must be supervised when sewing. *blushes and hangs head down in shame* In other words a sewing disaster! Im wondering how this course is going to work out. ;) Stay tuned for more sewing bloooooopers. :P

Summer in the name of maxis

Another maxi who would have thought? ;) Its been one HOT summer beating all previous records. Never ever have we had so many days with 30 C, its like living in southern Europe I imagine. :) Even worse cause we are not used to this heat up north and swealtering away. :) Surely this weather calls for a maxi! :)

This maxi is from Boden (surprise!), the summer collection 2013. I bought it last year when I was heavily pregnant so this is the first time Im wearing it. Instant love!

Well I reckon my collection of Boden maxis will continue to grow, they are just perfect in every way. :) Im wearing a UK 8L and the length is super! :) A maxi is the perfect summer wear I think. :)

Bodenista - maxi dress

Surprise, surprise, another Boden review coming up. :) This beauty (meaning the maxi dress) is called the Maya maxi dress and totally lovable. I wore it for the first time this weekend in very hot weather (30 C) and I felt like I had nothing on, talking of comfortable or what? :)

This is my second maxi dress from Boden and Im really pleased with it. :) Im wearing an UK size 8L (long) and its just the perfect length on me being 5"7. I chose to wear it with a tank top for modesty reasons, its quite low cut as you can see.

Its a bargain to be had, 60 % off these days. :) And it goes without saying that I luuve the colours and pattern, again. ;) hehehehee. No Im not on Bodens payroll or anything, I just cant shut up about how wonderful the Boden clothes are. :)

Nancy Drew

Hello ladies! Enjoying summer are you? :) Im enjoying summer and a Boden sale. ;) I was finally able to wear this dress from Boden a few days ago, its been lurking in my wardrobe for months as I preordered it from the early SS collection.
I found it appropriate to show it to you as Boden is having their end of season sale these days. So if any of you are in two minds about this dress, go for it! You wont regret it, promise! :)  Last time I checked the sale pages at the UK site there were plenty of dresses left, seems like Boden has an endless stock of this beauty despite it being hyped quite a lot. 50 % off you cant beat that! :)

Boden has named this dress Nancy which makes me think of Nancy Drew. ;) I was a huge fan of the Nancy Drew books when I was a litlle girl, I think I have read them all. :) The stories are all set in the US somewhere in the 1940s-50s which are quite on par with this dress I think. :) I imagine Nancy would have  looked stunning in this dress. :) Such a beautiful vintage print!

The answer my friend is blowing in the wind. Uhm I dont know about that but it sure was windy this day, look how the skirt suddenly turned poofy. :) Love it! :) Im wearing my usual Boden size, an UK8L and it fits beautifully. :) Actually Im planning on wearing this dress to my mothers 60th birthday coming up this Saturday. :) I think she will love it too. :)

My top picks from the Boden preview winter collection 2014

YaY! The winter preview is here! :) While we wait for the big clearance sale to take off in July we might as well spend some time lookin at the pretties on offer for those cold dreary days ahead - winter is coming someone told me. ;). Even if its hard to think of wintery clothes now Im always excited to see the new stuff. :) Who isnt? :) Allright lets get busy. :)

Millie skirt - squirrel print
SQUIRRELS!!!!!!!!!!!! My heart is racing and my head is spinning when I look at this print, squirrels can you believe it! Im definitely gonna preorder this skirt, that print is gonna sell like hot cakes I believe. :) Besides I need several new skirts in my wardrobe so this is a done deal. :) You will find the same print for a shirt as well. :)

Im drooling over this dress as you can imagine, but Im not sure about the fit. We`ll see. :)

Luckily I dont have to whine about lack of beautiful dresses this time around. ;) I was instantly drawn to this print, I love red and grey together. I havent bought any of the Selina dresses from the past collections so this will be a new to me fit.
